Due to road closures you are not able to get dropped off at the immediate start line. However, you should plan to get dropped off near Ghirardelli Square which is the main pre- and post-race staging area and walk to the start line from there.
The start line is located on Van Ness Ave adjacent to Aquatic Park. The staging area for pre- and post-race will be held in Aquatic Park across from Ghirardelli Square. If getting dropped off, please use Ghirardelli Square as your point of reference. You will be able to access the start line via a short walk.
There are a handful of parking garages that are walking distance of the start/finish line area. Parking rates and rules are set by lot operators.

Public Transportation:
There are various transit lines that pass close to Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco, including bus lines 19, 28, 30, and 49. Use this guide to help plan your trip to the start of the race. You can also use the Trip Planner to find the correct public transportation plan for you on race morning.
We recommend that you arrive 45-60 minutes prior to the start of your race.
Gear check will be located adjacent to the finish line at Ghirardelli Square and Beach Street in Aquatic Park. This is the primary pre- and post-race staging area and is a short walk to the start line. Gear check will not move during the race.
Clear gear check bags will be provided on race day. You may also check your own bag, backpack, or smaller. You cannot check luggage at Gear Check.
